The MLD Register

Founding window open: therapists can join at the founding rate until 30 September 2026.

The UK's independent MLD register, with dedicated post-op recovery search

Find a verified MLD therapist near you

Search by the surgery you are recovering from, or by lymphoedema, lipoedema and general MLD, then compare fees, home visits and the post-op recovery experience each therapist states.

A therapist in a bottle-green tunic performs a light, flat-handed MLD stroke on a patient's forearm in a calm treatment room

MLD in practice · light, precise, trained

  1. Documents checked, dates shown. Training certificate and insurance verified for every single listing.

  2. Recognised MLD schools only. Therapists trained with Vodder, Casley-Smith, Foldi, Leduc, LTA Fill and Flush, Aftercare Academy - APT, or a documented equivalent.

  3. Check anyone, any time. Our free Check a Therapist tool shows live registration status.

  4. Independent. Not owned by any training school, insurer or professional body. Funded by member fees alone.

Looking for MLD after surgery? Compare more than distance.

Choose the surgery that applies to you and see the therapists who say they have supported clients through it. Compare their fees, home visits, checked MLD training and current insurance before you enquire.

Recovery work, on your surgeon's timeline

Training and insurance are checked by us. Surgery types are stated by the therapist. Always follow your surgeon's timing and aftercare plan.

Anyone can say "lymphatic drainage". Not everyone has trained in MLD.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialised technique taught over many days of clinical training by a small number of recognised schools. But MLD is not statutorily regulated in the UK, so anyone can offer "lymphatic massage" regardless of training. If you are recovering from surgery or managing a condition like lymphoedema, that difference matters. The MLD Register exists so you can see the evidence before you book: which school your therapist trained with, what level they reached, and that their insurance was current when we checked it.

How every therapist earns their place here

  1. They apply with documents. Every applicant uploads their MLD training certificate and their current professional insurance schedule.

  2. A person checks them. We confirm the certificate comes from a recognised MLD school, the name matches, and the insurance is in date. No documents, no listing.

  3. The date goes public. Each profile shows "Documents verified" with the date, the training school and the level. Members re-evidence their training every two years to keep their "Revalidated" status.

What we check is training and insurance paperwork. We do not assess clinical competence, and no register can. Full details on our verification standard page.

Looking for MLD for another reason?

Surgery is only one of the reasons people need properly trained lymphatic work. Start from whichever of these is nearest to yours.

A therapist kneels to gently assess the lower leg of a seated woman in her sixties, a folded compression garment beside them

Living with lymphoedema.

Long-term swelling needs a therapist trained for a compromised lymphatic system, so this search shows only members we have checked as qualified for it, including full Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy. Always alongside your medical team, never instead of them.

Find a lymphoedema therapist

A woman in her forties sits on the edge of a treatment couch in soft daylight while a therapist rests a light hand on her lower leg

Living with lipoedema.

Whether you are managing lipoedema day to day or preparing for surgery, you can compare therapists on training, fees and home visits. If you have had lipoedema liposuction, you can also see how long each therapist says they have done that work, described in their own words.

Find a lipoedema therapist

A calm woman in her fifties with a headscarf rests her arm on a cushion while a therapist works with light, flat hands near her shoulder

Swelling after cancer treatment.

Some people develop lymphoedema after cancer surgery, node removal or radiotherapy, but swelling after treatment can have other causes, so ask your cancer team to assess it first. This search shows only members whose lymphoedema training we have checked.

Find a therapist for post-cancer swelling

A woman rests deeply relaxed, eyes closed, as feather-light strokes are worked at the side of her neck

General wellbeing.

Some people simply want gentle, properly trained lymphatic work with no condition behind it. Every therapist here has had the same documents checked, whatever you book them for.

Already have a therapist in mind?

Look them up in seconds. If they are on the register you will see their training school, level and the date their documents were verified. If they are not, we will show you exactly what to ask them instead.

Built after we needed it ourselves

In July 2026 my wife and I came home from her lipoedema liposuction surgery in Germany, and she needed MLD. We struggled to find one place that could show us which therapists had post-op experience, let us compare reviews and fees, and tell us when each therapist's training and insurance had most recently been checked. So we built the register we needed.
